#RMDSanDungaChallenge

Did you remember the Ice bucket challenge, that involved the dumping of a bucket of ice and water over a person's head to promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as motor neuron disease and in the United States as Lou Gehrig's disease) and encourage donations to research?

Hence this 2018, with the purpose of creating awareness in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) and to raise funds for research, the Association of Other Professionals in Rheumatology (OpenReuma by its initials in Spanish) and the Spaniard Rheumatology League (LIRE by its initials in Spanish) bring you the #RMDSanDungaChallenge under the rhythm of San Dunga, the new single of the Puerto Rican songwriter, rapper, and physician PJ Sin Suela.

#RMDSanDungaChallenge instructions
  • First, you have to learn the official dance of San Dunga, we offer you some examples:

  • Record yourself doing the dance.
  • Challenges five of your friends to do the dance within a maximum of 24 hours, if they do not meet the deadline they should donate money to the cause clicking HERE.
  • Upload the video to the social networks (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) using the official #RMDSanDungaChallenge
  • Finally, enjoy the process while you are helping a good cause.

Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases can affect people of any age regardless of their sex. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia are only some of the most common ones. In Spain, at least 1 in 5 people in the general population suffers from a rheumatic disease. They are a common cause of disability and are associated with a high consumption of the healthcare resources. We need you to help us to change the world by moving the skeleton!

In science, there are no borders. Science is of all and for all.
*** All the money raised will be earmarked for research projects in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases managed by OpenReuma and LIRE.
